Message: Stand Firm (Luke 21:5-19) Date: November 16 Pastor: Pye Chew
Jesus tells his disciples that a time will come when the massive Jerusalem temple will be destroyed. Jesus also warns them that if they continue to bear witness to the name of Jesus, they will encounter persecution from Jewish synagogue leaders, Roman authorities and family. Yet, despite this difficulty, God will protect them and look after them.
“You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life.” (Luke 21:16-19 NIV)
Upcoming Holiday Events
As the holiday season approaches, we have two wonderful events to share:
1. Church Decorating Day
- Date: Saturday, November 29, 2025
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Details: Join us as we decorate the church sanctuary, fireside room, and café area for Christmas! Many hands make light work, and your help is welcome as we prepare the church for the season.
2. An Evening of Carols
- Date: Friday, December 5, 2025
- Time: 7:30 PM
- Details: St. Andrew’s is hosting this beloved event again this year! Mark your calendar and plan to join us for an evening of carol singing and Christmas music provided by five choirs and St. Andrew’s praise team.
- Giving Back: Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Mississauga Food Bank.
