Scripture: Galatians 4:8–20
Are we living as children of God, or have we slipped back into old habits? This week, Pastor Pye explores Paul’s passionate plea to the Galatians.

Known by God (v. 11): Paul shares his deep concern for a people who have met the true God yet are returning to the “slavery” of legalism. He reminds us that the gospel isn’t about our effort to reach God, but the reality that God already knows and claims us.

The Transformation (v. 17–19): While others try to win us over with empty flattery, Paul’s goal is much deeper. He describes the “pains of childbirth” as he waits for one thing: for Christ to be formed in us.
The Takeaway: Knowing God isn’t about following a checklist; it’s about allowing the Spirit to reshape our hearts from the inside out.

Reading Galatians As The People Of God
Paul writes this letter to the churches in Galatia. They have been under the influence of false teachers who teach
them that they need to practice circumcision. Paul corrects them by telling them that they are no longer under Old
Testament law. Instead, they are people who live under the grace of God brought to them by Jesus Christ.
