This Sunday, we’re looking at a famous letter from a leader named Paul (Galatians 5:13-26). He talks about a simple but life-changing shift: Living by the Spirit.
What does that actually mean?
In plain English, it means we stop trying to “white-knuckle” our way through life. Paul points out that when we rely strictly on our own human effort (what he calls “the flesh”), we usually end up stressed, selfish, or burnt out.
But there’s a better way:

The DIY Method: Trying to be “good” through sheer willpower. (Spoiler: This usually fails because we’re human!)

The Spirit Method: Opening up to God’s help. When we let His Spirit lead, qualities like love, joy, and peace start to grow in us naturally—like fruit on a tree.

Reading Galatians As The People Of God
Paul writes this letter to the churches in Galatia. They have been under the influence of false teachers who teach
them that they need to practice circumcision. Paul corrects them by telling them that they are no longer under Old
Testament law. Instead, they are people who live under the grace of God brought to them by Jesus Christ.
