When you read these words, who comes to mind? Who is this treasured, chosen lady?
As you dive deeper into the text, a beautiful picture emerges: this “chosen lady” is actually a powerful metaphor for the local church itself, and her “children” are its members. How does shifting between these two perspectives—a revered individual versus an entire faith community—change the tone, intimacy, and urgency of the letter?

New Teaching Series
In June 2026, we will end our Sunday series on 1 John. The Apostle John is getting on in years. He writes from Ephesus to a group of Christians. He shares with them how they should live their lives by obeying Jesus and God’s Word. God is light (1 John 1:5). God is love (1 John 4:16). We look for God’s light. We share God’s love.
After this we will look at the next 2 short Epistles of John (2 John and 3 John)
